Rita Melssen
Rita Melssen is an Egyptian, Brooklyn-based stylist and creative consultant recognized for her archival-driven approach to fashion. Inspired by her grandfather—a tailor who owned a manufacturing company in Cairo. Melssen developed an early appreciation for craft, construction, and the cultural history of fashion.
Over the past six years, she has worked extensively with Madonna, most notably as costume designer for The Celebration Tour, one of the highest-grossing tours of all time and record holder for the largest audience ever at a standalone concert. Drawing on Madonna’s four-decade legacy as a fashion icon, Melssen collaborated with leading designers including Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, Miu Miu, and Dilara Fındıkoğlu to create a wardrobe that revisited and reinterpreted defining moments from the artist’s career.
Alongside her work with Madonna, Melssen has collaborated with leading brands and publications including Willy Chavarria, Dolce & Gabbana, Rolling Stone, Re-Edition, Vogue Italia, CR Fashion Book, Players, and Interview Magazine.
